FAQs
What can I expect in my first session?
Before our first session, you will be able to fill out my forms electronically so that I can have all the needed information before meeting. In our first session, I will introduce myself, my therapeutic style and my therapy policies as outlined in the paperwork. The initial session will be a time for me to hear about what brings you to therapy and gather some history around the issues you are struggling with. We can also explore the frequency of sessions and collaborate on some concrete goals that we will work on together. You can expect a warm and inviting environment that will allow us to get to know one another as we begin the therapy process.
Do you work evenings?
Yes, I currently accept evening appointments. Typically, these spaces fill up quickly, so if this is something you need, please inquire early on if I have any openings.
How long does therapy take?
The therapeutic process is unique for everyone. Depending on your specific needs and goals, therapy can be a short-term process concentrating on a distinct issue, or a longer-term process, focusing on more complex issues. Typically, clients can start with weekly sessions lasting for 50 or 90 minutes. After we build momentum and begin to reach your goals, we can decide if reducing to bi-weekly or monthly sessions are needed. My approach to the therapy process is to help us accomplish your goals and find relief as quickly as possible so that therapy does not have to be time consuming.
